New year... new flag!

Welcome to the FlagfForPortland.me website. My purpose for creating this site is to give like-minded folks a central location to coalesce around in our efforts to redesign and replace the flag for the City of Portland, Maine.

In the past few years there have been fits and starts made towards revising the flag, including a fairly substantial design contest hosted by The Bangor Daily News (you can find links to that contest in our Press section), several social media accounts, and some informal interest gauging by yours truly. However, most of those efforts have fizzled out before gaining much traction.

My hope is that this site can be a way both to gather a critical mass of supporters and partners as well as a means to disseminate information and enthusiasm. If this small, but symbolically significant, undertaking piques your interest, I hope you will leave a comment, follow our social media accounts, or help us spread the word.
